From synthetic tumour-associated carbohydrate antigens (TACA) based on mucins to far more complex PSGL-1 mimetics and glycopolypeptides, Sussex Research has led the field of glycopeptide synthesis for >20 years. We produce and inventory the world's largest selection of well defined glycoamino acid building blocks allowing us to access unique glycopeptides in timely fashion. Our expertise extends to glycated (Fructosylated), glycolipidlipid, lipid and macrocyclic peptides.

We produce carbohydrate-based antigens required to screen antibodies or to produce an antibody. We have the synthetic tools to produce carbohydrate antigens and their respective BSA, OVA, CRM or KLH carrier protein conjugates. Antigens include but are not limited to glycans, glycopeptides and glycolipids.

Exploiting lectin/carbohydrate-mediated drug delivery through use of glycobiology may offer a means of addressing the specific challenges of delivering and targeting difficult therapeutic molecules such as RNA to specific tissues. The idea of using lectin-carbohydrate interactions to mediate cell targeting and cellular uptake of molecules in general has been under intense investigation.
