GalNAcβ

N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAcβ) ligands can be used to target drugs to hepatocytes in the liver, by exploiting the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR). ASGPR has a high affinity for GalNAc-containing ligands. Therapeutic payloads can be directly conjugated to GalNAc ligands or encapsulated in nanoparticles decorated with GalNAc ligands.
