Collection: MUC16

MUCIN16 (MUC16), also known as CA-125, is a mucin glycoprotein expressed on the surface of epithelial cells. It particularly serves as a biomarker for ovarian cancer, where elevated levels in serum are indicative of disease presence and progression. In addition to this, MUC16 has been investigated as a potential biomarker for liver, lung, colon and pancreatic cancers. Research efforts have explored MUC16 as a target for cancer vaccines and antibody-based therapies, aiming to harness its presence for diagnostic and therapeutic advancements in ovarian cancer treatment.
