Tri-GalNAc-PEG2000-DSPE
Tris-GalNAc-GABA-NH2 linked via PEG2k to phospholipid (DSPE or 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine) where GABA = gamma-Aminobutyric acid, or γ-aminobutyric acid.
Tri-GalNAc-PEG2000-DSPE can be used to create targeted drug delivery vehicles, such as liposomes or lipid nanoparticles, that specifically bind to ASGPR on hepatocytes. This targeting allows for the direct delivery of therapeutic agents to the liver, which is particularly beneficial for treating liver diseases such as hepatitis, liver cancer, and other metabolic disorders.
The use of such targeted delivery systems aims to improve the therapeutic index of drugs by enhancing their accumulation in the target organ while minimizing exposure to non-target tissues. This can lead to more effective treatments with fewer side effects compared to conventional drug delivery methods.
